It borders France, Aosta Valley region, Switzerland, Lombardy, Emilia Romagna and Liguria regions. It has an area of 25,402 square kilometres (9,808 sq mi) and a population of 4 396 293 (31-7-2016). The capital of Piedmont is Turin.
